CARGO Classroom:

 

 

 

CARGO is the brainchild of poet, Lawrence Hoo – a continuation of Hoostory, a collection of poems written in 2011.

 

Through a reflection of the nature and historic standards of ‘academic thought’ in British schools, CARGO is poised to address the imbalance of perspectives in school curriculums, especially in the formative years.

 

CARGO Classroom resources help give historical perspectives, by allowing pupils to place their growing knowledge within different context’s, and helping them understand how scientific knowledge of value within Ancient societies (like Africa) has formed the basis of today’s scientific knowledge in Europe, and across the North Atlantic countries.

 

Notably, CARGO Classroom resources helps to broaden the discourse, bringing more diverse stories, which are more complex, much more layered, and much more factual, and historically representative.

 

Through poetry, visual art and political history, CARGO Classroom immerses the young mind in the truth, and turbulence of African history.
