      Jamal Edwards: the

      legacy of a British

      cultural architect.

LONDON — The British digital and music entrepreneur, pioneer, SBTV na 8BARS founder Jamal Edwards has died aged 31.

Edwards established the YouTube channel and media platform SBTV, transforming the British music scene and UK contemporary sound.

Edwards helped launch the careers of a number of British musical artists including Stormzy, Dave, Skepta, and singer-songwriters Ed Sheeran, Jessie J, na Emeli Sandé; collaborating with established international artists such as Wiz Khalifa, Drake na Nicki Minaj.

Dissatisfied with the lack of a level playing field, strong cognitive inclusion and cognitive diversity in the Uingereza, Edwards keenness to nurturing talent transcended music, ensuring not just creatives, editors, photographers, na directors had a fair shot at the inaccessible media industry, but created a platform, a level playing field, access and opportunities; working in partnership with charities, the Department for Education (UK), through JE Delve (a grassroots youth charity founded by Edwards) to support young creatives in technical skills-acquisition and entrepreneurship.

Katika September 2021, Edwards was appointed the first ‘entrepreneurs in residence’ at Sussex University (UK) – a role with the singular purpose to inspire a new generation of emerging entrepreneurs.

Edwards 2013 memoir, served as a blueprint for the next generation to achieve success, independently.

His vision and legacy has inspired a generation, and will remain unparalleled for many years to come.
